My name is Martha Flores. I am from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. I started working for YPW Spanish Immersion School, beginning in August 2012. I bring 11+ years of solid and proven experience teaching in Pre-K. 10 years experience teaching in Special Education and elementary school level groups. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education from “Escuela Normal Nuevo Leon, Monterrey, N.L. Mex. I am happily married (32 years and Going), with four sons-Damian, Joaquin, Leonardo and Sebastian, and recently my granddaughter “Hanna”. We have three pets (one dog-“Spicy”, two cats-“Negra” and “Pushy Foo”).
When I am not at work and, to recharge my batteries, I like listen to music, read, exercise (walking,”Pilates”). My favorite food is “Enchiladas” and “ Mole Poblano”. Rose and White are my favorite colors. My favorite children’s story is “Prince Valiant”. My teaching philosophy is “Learning through Discovery”I believe in providing a warm and loving atmosphere for all children. All children have different learning styles that a teacher needs to incorporate into the classroom. Children enjoy learning and engaging in hands on experiences. As a teacher, it is important to address all needs and make learning fun and exciting. I am a motivated and determined teacher.

Yenni– Camps / After School Teacher -Yenni Reyes
I was born and raised in Cuba. After living in Miami for more than seven years I decided to move to Austin. Now, I call Austin my home.  I have a BS degree in Veterinary from Cuba University. After moving to Miami, I discovered my passion for teaching children. Ever since, I have attended various professional trainings in early childhood education. I also have an Early Childhood director credential from Miami.  I have spent the last years in Miami as After School lead teacher. Although I enjoy all aspects of the classroom, Children’s Literature is my first love. I try to include books throughout as many of our learning activities as possible. I enjoy passing on the joy of reading to my students.

Elena– Camps  – Elena Martos
¡Hola! I would like to introduce myself as one of the Spanish teachers here in YPW. I was born and raised in Spain where I obtained my Social Work BA at Public University of Navarra. Not long after it I realized my passion for languages and I decided to go back to university, this time Barcelona’s university to get my diploma in teaching Spanish. Ever since I’ve been teaching Spanish and English around the world (Spain, Ireland, South Korea…) opening my life to multicultural experiences.

I love working with kids, since I have no children I always say I need at least one school in my life to fill my need for them, sometimes I even beg my girlfriends to go out with their husbands so I can babysit them! I believe learning should be a fun experience so I try to be as much creative as possible; I really want my students to enjoy in the classroom.

Francisco– Science Instructor – My name is Francisco Moreno and I have been actively involved in education for about 5 years now. This past year, I taught 1st grade at a private school and loved working with students on creative projects and science lessons. My goal as a teacher for this summer is to ask students questions that will later expand into creative and fun projects.

julio– Academic Assistant Director
I am Julio Calderón from Puerto Rico and I have the pleasure and the opportunity to be working with the administration of YPW Spanish Immersion School. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Masters in Educational Administration and Supervision. I have around five years of experience, and four of those involve early child care programs.  I am married with two children, 4 and 6 year old.
I’ll be here to help and to learn from you as well.  If in any way I can assist you all, I will be more than glad to help.
